What the site stores

Pitwright.com is guides, reference charts, and calculators that run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter into a calculator stay on your device: they are not sent to Pitwright or anyone else, and they are not saved after you leave the page. The one thing the site keeps in your browser is your light-or-dark theme choice, stored as a single browser setting.

Clearing your browser data removes that preference. Nothing else about you is kept on your device by the site.

Command Pack purchases

Stripe hosts Command Pack checkout and processes payment information. Pitwright does not receive or store your full card number. Stripe provides Pitwright with purchase details needed to fulfill the order, including the checkout session, purchased item, payment status, and the email address entered at checkout.

Pitwright uses that information only to confirm the purchase, prevent duplicate delivery, email the purchased PDF, provide support, and maintain necessary transaction records.

Digital delivery

Purchased Command Pack PDFs are stored privately with Netlify. Pitwright uses Resend to email the purchased file to the address entered at checkout. Resend therefore receives that email address and the message attachment for delivery.

Pitwright records the Stripe checkout session, pack identifier, delivery status, delivery time, Resend message identifier, and a one-way hash of the customer email address. Full card details are not stored by Pitwright.

Cheat sheet email signups

Signing up for the free BBQ Cook-Day Cheat Sheet is optional and is the only place this site asks for an email address outside a purchase. Nothing on Pitwright requires it: every guide, calculator, and chart works without one, and the cheat sheet itself can be downloaded straight from the page.

When you sign up, Pitwright stores your email address, the date you signed up, the exact consent wording shown to you at the time, and the page you signed up from. No IP address, browser fingerprint, or advertising identifier is recorded with it. Resend delivers the email and therefore receives your address and the message.

The address is used to send you the cheat sheet and occasional practical BBQ emails, which is what the form says. It is not added to any unrelated list, not used for advertising, and not sold or shared. To be removed, reply to any of those emails with “unsubscribe” or email [email protected], and the record is deleted.

Analytics

Site analytics are handled separately from everything else on this page.

Marketing-site analytics

This site (pitwright.com) may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, referral sources, page views, and site speed. The beacon is cookieless and reads no browser storage. Cloudflare, not Pitwright, sets the retention period for that data; blocking scripts from static.cloudflareinsights.com in your browser keeps the beacon from loading, which is the only opt-out available today.

First-party event counts

Pitwright also counts a small set of anonymous events with its own server function. No third-party analytics vendor, no cookies, and nothing stored about you. The events are things like which Command Pack pages were viewed or previewed, when a checkout began, and which cheat-sheet pages and buttons were used. Each event carries only the event name and a fixed label such as the pack identifier or the page it came from. There is no account or device identifier attached, because Pitwright has none.

Affiliate reporting

Amazon Associates reports clicks and qualifying purchases from links on the gear pages. Pitwright does not receive a shopper’s Amazon account, cart, or payment details. Links that may earn a commission are marked as such, and the rules for how recommendations are made are published in the editorial standards.

What is not collected

Anything you type into a calculator (weights, times, temperatures) is never sent anywhere and never appears in analytics. Pitwright does not use advertising trackers, cross-app identifiers, or device fingerprinting, and does not sell personal data.

No account required

Using Pitwright does not require creating an account, and there is no remote profile of you anywhere. Buying a Command Pack requires an email address for payment confirmation and delivery, and signing up for the free cheat sheet requires one for delivery, but neither creates a Pitwright account.

Your data, your control

The email address behind a purchase or a cheat-sheet signup is the only personal data Pitwright holds, and it exists only to deliver what was requested. Reply “unsubscribe” or email [email protected] to have it removed. Calculator entries never leave your device in the first place.
