RUB CALCULATOR
BBQ Rub Calculator
Pick a cut and a rub, enter your meat weight, and get exact amounts, scaled from the recipes built into the Pitwright app.
Texas Classic, 12 lb Brisket
- 2 tbspKosher salt · about 17 g
- 2 tbspCoarse black pepper
Salt is shown by weight because volume varies by brand. Grams are specified for Diamond Crystal kosher; use about half the volume for Morton.
How the scaling works
Each rub is dialed in for a typical weight of that cut, then scaled up or down to your exact weight. Amounts round to the nearest quarter unit, and anything below a quarter teaspoon is flagged rather than rounded up and over-seasoned. It is the same math the Pitwright app runs during a cook.

Brisket Internal Temp: When Is Brisket Actually Done?
Brisket is done around 203°F internal, but that number is only half the story. The target temp, why tenderness matters more, and the stall.
